Rhodes University’s Professor Alfredo Terzoli was announced the winner of the dti Technology Award in the Human Resource Development category at a gala dinner at the Mittah Seperepere Convention Centre in Kimberley on Thursday. The dti Technology Awards recognise individuals and organisations that significantly contribute towards technology development and innovation in South Africa. Terzoli, head of the Telkom Centre of Excellence in Distributed Multimedia in the university's Department of Computer Science, received the award on its behalf. The award-winning project is titled ‘Mobile Services for Ubiquitous Communication and Multimedia Delivery’, or Mobi-Ser.
