Last week's R2 800 donation from GBS Mutual Bank certainly set the ball rolling for this year's Grocott’s Mail Christmas Cheer Fund. GBS has also generously agreed to host the bank account for the fund.

This year's Christmas Cheer proceeds will go to the Grahamstown Hospice branch and in the upcoming weeks Grocott’s Mail will publish updates about the progress of the fund.

Hospice organisations look after people of all ages who suffer from advanced life-threatening illnesses. Each Hospice organisation may offer a different type of service to the community – the most common one being a home care service.

Other services include in-patient units for some hospices, day centres, bereavement services, clinics and programmes for children. Each Hospice organisation determines its own services according to the needs of the community it serves and its resources.

Donations can be made at the Grocott’s Mail reception, our offices are at 40 High Street.

Grocott’s Mail staff members will also be taking turns to stand outside the Pick n Pay with collection tins tomorrow (Wednesday) and on Thursday.

If you would like to make your contribution to the fund online, please find the GBS Mutual Bank account at www.FNB.co.za. The account number is 52322003436 Branch code 250655. It is important to remember that the reference number of the Grocott’s Christmas Cheer Fund is 00380700057.
