Graeme defeat Alexander Road in T20 match

A delayed start due to a wet pitch reduced the original 50-over Graeme College vs Alexander Road cricket match to a T20 format game.

A delayed start due to a wet pitch reduced the original 50-over Graeme College vs Alexander Road cricket match to a T20 format game.

The match took place in Port Elizabeth, Alexander Road's stomping ground. Batting first, the home side scored 112/5 in their innings. Opening bowler Abongile Hashe was impressive in returning bowling figures of 2/15 in his allotted four overs.

After a slow start, Graeme batsmen Lukhanyo Tshongweni (59 not out) and Siphosethu Pinini (44) got into their stride and posted a match-winning, unbroken second wicket partnership of 116 to clinch victory in the 17th over. Graeme won the match by nine wickets.

vs Alexander Road 2nds – 59 all out (Xantilomzi Sandi 4/15), Graeme 60/2 (Dagan Wiblin 21, Siyamthanda Zita 19). Graeme won by 8 wickets.

vs Alexander Road U15A – 123 all out (Josiah Twum-Boafo 3/4, Aviwe Ntoyanto 3/23, Curwin Welcome 2/9). Graeme 127/3 (Keenan Vieira 59 not out, Uzuqaqambe Nyanda 57 not out). Graeme won by seven wickets.

vs Alexander Road U14A – Graeme scored 202/5 (Nicholas Zimmerman 110), Alexander Road – 90 all out (Nicholas Zimmerman 5/28, Francois Botha 2/6). Graeme won by 112 runs.
