Last Saturday (27 October) the Kingswood College first-team cricketers welcomed the Cambridge High School team to a match after previously enduring days and days of rain.
Kingswood College won the toss against the East London visitors and didn't hesitate to bowl first. The decision proved to be a good one as Cambridge struggled to find any form of momentum in their innings. The pitch was slow and low, and the periodic fall of wickets strangled the Cambridge innings.
For Kingswood, the seamers all enjoyed bowling in friendly conditions and were superbly accurate.
Cambridge managed to score 86 before being bowled out.
Kingswood's Jason Davidson took 3 for 15, Robert Sholto-Douglas 2 for 10, Anelisa Mteto 2 for 24 and Lihleli Xoli 2 for 34.
The Kingswood batsmen were able to pass the score relatively easily, making 90 for the loss of five wickets, thus winning by five wickets.
The U14A and U15A games were rained out, while the Kingswood seconds had a good result, winning by eight wickets.
