    Little Flower Day Care Centre in Grahamstown's Extension 7 came third in the Best Early Childhood Development Centre category of the 2012 Eastern Cape SA Early Childhood Development Awards. The New Gelvandale ECD Centre won the category, with Zintonga Day Care Centre in Port St Johns first runner-up. The awards, sponsored by Absa bank, were announced at a function in East London recently. Sylvia Maposa of the Lady Frere Day Care Centre won first prize in the other category, Best Early Childhood Development Practitioner. Bukiwe Silimela, of Uzukolwethu Day Care Centre in East London and Ntombtle Mtshiza, of Sakhisizwe Preschool were runners-up.
