Bofolo bikers bring home the bacon

The 13th annual Woodoc Kat Mountain Bike Challenge took place in Fort Beaufort on Sunday 8 September, with a number of local cyclists making the trip.

The 13th annual Woodoc Kat Mountain Bike Challenge took place in Fort Beaufort on Sunday 8 September, with a number of local cyclists making the trip.

On offer for cycling enthusiasts were the 85km main event, the 45km and a 25km. The events started and finished at the Fort Beaufort Country Club.

David Wright was first local in the 85km event, finishing fifth overall in 4 hours 4 minutes 56 seconds. In the 45km, Terri-Lynn Penney was first local and first woman to cross the line in a time of 2:06:47, finishing seventh overall. Pierre Mclean was first local and fifth overall in the 25km event in a time of 58 minutes 52 seconds, while Melanie Bruce-Miller was the women's winner in 1:01:03. The Mclean family received a prize for the largest family at the event, with nine Mcleans taking part.
