Retired educator passes on

Vice president of the Grahamstown Retired Educators' Association Mbali Solomon Mzizi passed away at Settlers’ Hospital on Saturday 16 June at the age of 66.

Vice president of the Grahamstown Retired Educators' Association Mbali Solomon Mzizi passed away at Settlers’ Hospital on Saturday 16 June at the age of 66.

Mzizi had filled posts at several schools in the area, including teaching at Mtyobo Primary School in Port Alfred, working as acting principal at Ntsika Junior School and he was principal of Benjamin Mahlasela High School.

He later worked as an examination officer in Grahamstown.

His memorial service was held at Shaw Memorial Methodist Church on Wednesday, and a funeral service will be held at the same venue at 9am tomorrow (Saturday, 23 June).
