    Six Grahamstown athletes were among the 1 635 who completed the 8th edition of the Spec-Savers Ironman South Africa in Port Elizabeth on Sunday. The race provided a true test of character, as athletes were faced with trying weather conditions.

    Six Grahamstown athletes were among the 1 635 who completed the 8th edition of the Spec-Savers Ironman South Africa in Port Elizabeth on Sunday. The race provided a true test of character, as athletes were faced with trying weather conditions.

    Spain’s Clemente Alonso-McKernan was overall race winner in 8 hours 34 minutes 35 seconds, while Natascha Badmann (Switzerland) was the women's winner in 9:47:10. Badmann completed her comeback by winning at the place where she last won a title.
