Spectators were out in force at Kingswood's City Lords field last Thursday to support the Chevrolet Warriors and some of the top school and club cricketers in a Pro20 game.

The match was played as part of the Kenrich Festival of Cricket, which is set to become an annual event in Grahamstown. Former Graeme College pupil Jon-Jon Smuts received a cheer from parts of the crowd as he took up the bowling and then later came in to bat.

The two teams consisted of four Warriors players, four scholars and four promising players from the current Eastern Province Rural cricket side.

They were:

Team 1: 1. Jon-Jon Smuts (Warriors) 2. Brandon Handley (Cuylerville) 3. Jason Davidson (Kingswood) 4. Steven Gornal (Cuylerville) 5. Athi Dyili (Warriors) 6. Justin Kreusch (Warriors) 7. Luvuyo Frans (Nombulelo) 8. Jonno Davy (Manley Flats) 9. Greg King (St Andrews) 10. Anelisa Mteto (Kingswood) 11. Aya Gqamane (Warriors) 12. Abongile Hashe (Graeme) Manager: Piet Botha

Team 2: 1. Andrew Rushmere (St Andrews) 2. Arno Jacobs (Warriors) 3. Bevan Bennett (Warriors) 4. Edorique Gouws (Willows) 5. Michael Price (Warriors) 6. Rod Fisher (Cuylerville) 7. Abner Accom (Graeme) 8. Chesley Daniels (Willows) 9. Masixole Mkrakra (Velile) 10. Sean Biggs (Kingswood) 11. Jerry Nqolo (Warriors) 12. Sintu Manjezi (St Andrews) Manager: Adi Birrell

The Warriors team is currently busy with the 2011/2012 season and will play three SuperSport matches before starting the T20 campaign in February.
