    A number of Joza Karate Club members were graded at a ceremony at the Extension 9 community hall recently.

    A number of Joza Karate Club members were graded at a ceremony at the Extension 9 community hall recently.

    Grading was conducted by Sensei Garry Grapentin (5th dan, head instructor of East Cape Shotokan-Ryu) with assistance from Mzwandile Matebese (Joza Karate Club instructor) and Zwelakhe Sinam (instructor of Makana Karate Club).

    There were 15 students from the club who took part in the day's grading.

    The results were as follows: Ayabulela Ngqele – junior yellow belt Cecil Baartman – 8th kyu yellow belt Gillian Oerson – 8th kyu yellow belt Qhamani Manentsa – 8th kyu yellow belt Lufefe Sityi – 8th kyu yellow belt Members who graded from 8th kyu yellow belt to 7th kyu orange belt: Sifiso May Lihle Libi Aphiwe Matiwawane Abongile Ntlanstana Ayabonga Yako Somila Soko Thanduxolo Royi Members who graded from 7th kyu orange to 6th kyu green belt: Nobuhle Chiliza Bonani Kutsi Simphiwe Dlephu
