A 43-year-old man charged with two counts of raping his daughter abandoned his bail application when he appeared in the Grahamstown Magistrate's Court on Monday.
The man is accused of abducting the 16-year-old girl, along with her three siblings, and raping her on a farm outside Grahamstown. The man was out on bail for raping the same child when he was arrested for the most recent alleged offences. He had been on the run since October.
Police finally closed in on him and arrested him in a house in Extension 5 two weeks ago, and has been in custody since. Magistrate Dion Kotze postponed the case to 14 December for further investigation.
