An Isuzu bakkie was broken into in the Pepper Grove Mall parking lot last Tuesday, on 6 September. CCTV footage shows two men breaking into the bakkie and stealing a handbag before leaving the mall in another car.

The police have been notified and according to police spokeswoman Captain Mali Govender, an investigation is underway. The crime took place just before 4pm while the owner of the bakkie was busy shopping.

Grocott’s Mail has the registration number of the getaway car but cannot release such information as this could infringe on any court case proceedings that may arise, should the suspects be found. The CCTV footage can also not be published. Govender said that people should avoid leaving valuables in cars, especially where they are clearly visible.
