Petrol price relief ahead

Motorists can breathe a little easier as the petrol price drops by between 31 and 33 cents a litre next week. The cost of 93 unleaded petrol and lead-replacement petrol will come down by 33 cents a litre, and that of 95 ULP and LRP will decrease by 31 cents from next Wednesday, said the Energy Department on Friday.

The cost of 93 unleaded petrol and lead-replacement petrol will come down by 33 cents a litre, and that of 95 ULP and LRP will decrease by 31 cents from next Wednesday, said the Energy Department on Friday.

On Gauteng a litre of petrol will cost R9.92 and at the coast R9.62. The price of diesel with a 0.05 percent sulphur content will decrease by 11 cents, while that of diesel 0.005 percent sulphur will fall by 12 cents a litre.

The price of wholesale paraffin will come down by 12 cents and that of illuminating paraffin will decrease by 16 cents. The maximum retail price for liquefied petroleum (LP) gas will drop by 42 cents a kilogram. “During the period under review, the average international product prices of petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin decreased,” said the department. – BuaNews
