When you think Deuces, you think Chris Brown, and moving on to something better. What I am about to tell you about is something similar, but way better – without all the Chris Brown drama.

When you think Deuces, you think Chris Brown, and moving on to something better. What I am about to tell you about is something similar, but way better – without all the Chris Brown drama.

When I talk about Deuces, I am talking about the new cocktail bar that is opening today. The bar is in Bathurst Street, where the old KFC used to be and it promises to be one of the hottest spots in Grahamstown.

Owner Denise de Jager says, “The bar will cater to all kinds of people. Entertainment will include famous DJs and dancing in the background.” It will be open from Monday to Saturday and they will serve everything from food to shooters, cocktails, ciders and beer.

The bar will have ladies' night and boys' night and they will also cater for private functions. The owner promises that the bar will stir up Grahamstown night life. In terms of security, De Jager says they want to make the bar a safe place for students and the Grahamstown community in general.

They say there will be security everywhere and they are going to liaise with the police, so they can patrol the whole street. "The cars will also be safe because we will have car marshals,” she said. “Violence will not be tolerated at any given time, or any form of harassment,” said Darrel de Jager.

Entrance for the opening will be R50. This includes a performance by DJ Master Jam (of Soul Candi), a snack platter, a glass of champagne and sherry. There will also be promotions and prizes up for grabs.
