Hundreds came to pay their last respects to Archbishop Thembisile Dixon Mtyobo who died after a short illness and was laid to rest on Saturday.
Born on 16 February 1935 in Wood Street, Mtyobo attended Fikizolo Lower Primary School and Andrew Moyakhe Higher Primary School. He then went to Nathaniel Nyaluza, where he obtained his Junior Certificate (Standard 8).

Mtyobo was a well known sportsman in the community, playing soccer for Royals United Football Club, rugby for Easterns Rugby Football Club, as well as club cricket.
After a stint as a carpenter, Mtyobo was a general worker at Albany Museum for 32 years until he retired in 1998.
An Archbishop in Grahamstown's Old Trinity Church-in-Zion, Mtyobo also worked for local radio station, Radio Grahamstown, from 2002 to 2006, where he presented a religious affairs show. He was also a member of the station's Board of Trustees.
One of Mtyobo's grandchildren, Christopher Mtyobo, said his grandfather was a people's person who was loved and respected by his family and the entire Grahamstown community. "My grandfather could engage with both kids and adults," said Christopher.
"I will sadly miss him because he is the one who raised me and taught me discipline and respect for God." Mtyobo leaves his wife, Nomalungelo Mthona, six children, 14 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
