    Swallows flying at the top of the league

    SWALLOWS Rugby Club are the log leaders in all three Eastern Province Rugby Union (EPRU), Super League, Wellman Harmse section.

    SWALLOWS Rugby Club are the log leaders in all three Eastern Province Rugby Union (EPRU), Super League, Wellman Harmse section.


    The Wellman Harmse is made up of the south, west, central and north sections, with the Grahamstown teams playing in the south section.

    The league came to an end recently and the top two teams in each section will take part in play-off matches. EPRU are still to announce the date of the quarter finals, but Swallows coach, Phillip Oerson who is waiting for the announcement date said: “We are ready.”

    Swallows are top of the first team, first reserve and the second team logs. In the first team league, Swallows lead with 34 points, followed by Rosebuds from Alicedale on 30 points.

    Winter Rose are fourth with 22 points and Easterns are fifth, also on 22 points. In the 1st reserve league, Swallows are tops with 32 points, with Rosebuds second on 19 points.

    Winter Rose are third with 24 points and Easterns fourth also on 24 points. In the 2nds league, Swallows lead with 36 points, Rosebuds are second with 30 points, Winter Rose are fourth on 24 points and Easterns are seventh on eight points.
