The Graeme College first rugby front row were responsible for six of their team’s nine tries in the 57-13 defeat of Westering in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.

Props Chad Banfield and Jade Bowles and hooker Tyrone Rankin each dotted down twice in superb displays of power running.

Rankin in particular put in a man of the match performance with his fine skills. Graeme got hold of the ball after kicking off to Westering and scored through wing Juandré Nel.

Nel scored a second try in the second half after receiving the ball from his brother Francois, who broke strongly from his own half. Graeme’s other try was scored by captain Wikus Coetzee. Alex Banfield converted six of the tries.
