The Gijima Sport ‘n Leisure working together with the local Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture (DSRAC) will host an U15 football knockout competition at JD Dlepu stadium as from this Saturday.

The top three teams in the U15 Makana Local Football League will have the privilege of getting a bye in the fi rst round.

Therefore Young Killers, Mighty Chiefs and Future Stars already have their names in the quarter fi nals of the competition while the other ten teams will face each other in the fi rst knock out stage.

After the all-Makana win in last weekend’s Cacadu football tournament, the youngsters would surely want to retain the victorious feeling and hopefully expand it.

Saturday’s fi xtures are as follows: At 11am, fourth placed City Pirates will play against New Town City who are bottom of the league while fifth placed Junior Stars will play United Fighters who are currently in 12th position.

At 12.30pm Eleven Attackers willplay Lingelihle who are number 10 in the log, while Chelsea will face Sakhulutsha who are two points behind.

At 2pm City Angels who are in sixth position will go against Italy Football Club in what will be the last fi rst round match.

The Quarterfi nals will be staged on Sunday (18 July) where the three top teams will play the winners of the fi rst round.

A week’s gap will be allowed before the commencement of the semis and finals which will be played on Saturday and Sunday 24 and 25 July.
