    Two locals in pro boxing matches

    Two Grahamstown boxers will be part of the lineup of various professional boxing matches in Port Alfred this
    weekend.

    Mamali Productions and Ndlambe Municipality will present nine fights at the Port Alfred Civic Centre. The matches take place tomorrow, with the first match starting at 1pm.

    weekend.

    Mamali Productions and Ndlambe Municipality will present nine fights at the Port Alfred Civic Centre. The matches take place tomorrow, with the first match starting at 1pm.

    The two local fighters are Masonwabe Mgcuwe and Mntwekhaya Makhombe. Mgcuwe will come up against Philani Fetsha from East London over a four round bantam weight match.

    Makhombe faces Bongani Silila from Mdansane Buffalo City in over four rounds in a junior flyweight bout. Two Port Alfred boxers, Madoda Qonono and Vusumzi Tyutyan will also be competing.

    The main event is the Eastern Cape Junior Featherweight Championship between Port Alfred’s Qonono who is the challenger.

    He will face the champion, Bonakele Bikitsha from Mdantsane Buffalo City Municipality. Admission is R20 per person.
