The Border surfing team is currently taking part in the Reef Wetsuits/South Coast Tourism South African surfing championships, with Grahamstown surfer Mickey Witthuhn as the team manager.

Witthuhn, who has been a surfer for the past 34 years, is now representing the Border side at national level as the team  manager for the  30th year in a row.

He is still a keen surfer, taking part in the annual Border closed champs, as well as the various Port Alfred surfing competitions, where he has won his division (45 years and over) for the past two years.

Border surfing held four trials and surf off before announcing its team for the Reef Wetsuits/South Coast Tourism South African surfing championships which is to be held at St Mikes Southern KwaZulu-Natal Coast from
    27 to 30 May.

The Border team, with half the members having national colours, is coached by Greg Emslie (who is also part of the team).
