The Eastern Cape Eisteddfod is back for the second year in a row, and is set to rock the arts education scene in Grahamstown.

Over 5 000 children from all over the Eastern Cape, ranging from pre-schoolers to high school students, will be partaking in speech, drama, dance and music performances throughout the next few weeks.

Other categories include visual art to be exhibited at the Art Gallery of the Settlers Monument, creative writing and a range of workshops including art, drama, dance and storytelling techniques.

The performances are open to the public and run from 8.30am to 4.30pm every day until 14 May at the Settlers Monument. Tickets cost R10, and workshop fees are R9 for pre-primary children and R18 for primary to high school children.
