THE former spokesperson of Congress of the People (Cope) has dumped the party to rejoin its arch-rival, the ANC.

Dumi Zono told Grocott’s Mail that he did not want to comment on the matter but confirmed that he left Cope to rejoin the ruling party as a “prodigal son”.

“There are a few processes that need to fold but I go  public about this,” he added hinting that he may be officially re-introduced at an ANC ceremony.

Mbuleli Njibane, Cope regional secretary in the Cacadu District, confirmed Zono’s resignation from the party. “He is no longer with us, he tendered his resignation about a month and a half ago,” he said.
