Singer- song writer Farryl Purkiss is touring the Eastern Cape, visiting three cities in three days, after  travelling the world and spending time in the recording studio. His latest release, Fruitbats and Crows, is the follow-up to his critically acclaimed selftitled 2006 album. Purkiss has featured in major newspapers, magazines, TV shows and in 2007 he was voted by the public as the 19th most popular celebrity and the most popular musician in the Heat Magazine Hot 100 in South Africa. He has even been an ambassador for Woolworths. He has also found popularity beyond the country’s borders and is no stranger to the international music scene. Purkiss has toured throughout Australia, Europe, USA, and has also enjoyed radio
success in Japan and France. He has performed alongside Muse, Tool, Jack Johnson and other international acts. He also featured in the US TV series Private Practice. Purkiss spent the last two years perfecting songs for Fruitbats and Crows, and the album showcases the sounds of a more mature persona. The album contains 12 new tracks and features international guest musicians such as Ash Grunwald from Australia and John Ellis of Tree 63. The first single, A Million Grains Of Sand, has already been playlisted on radio stations across South Africa with a music video soon to follow.
