A cash-in-transit truck from SBV security services company was involved in a single-vehicle accident on the Port Alfred road near the Southwellturnoff earlier this week.

The vehicle was travelling from Port Alfred to Grahamstown when the accident occured on Wednesday morning.

According to Inspector Sherolene  Williams from the Grahamstown SAPS, it is believed that the driver lost control of the vehicle causing it to roll off the side of the road.

Three men were injured and rushed to Settlers Hospital. However, due to the extent of his injuries, one of the men was taken to Port Elizabeth to be treated there.

Police arrived on the scene and waited until another SBV truck arrived to secure the money in the vehicle. Williams said the police  officers were not allowed to open the vehicle until the other truck arrived.

She added that she was impressed that no money was stolen out of the truck at the time of the  accident.Neither the company nor the police would disclose the amount of money involved.
