Teaching at EastCape Midlands College continues despite construction taking place in and around the
    campus.

Directly in front of the main St Aidan’s building is a diesel engine providing power to two  jackhammers which are being used on a wall roughly two metres from the side of the building.Inside the   building it is obvious that construction has taken place recently with both interiors and exteriors being painted.

One of the students explained what was happening “It’s been happening since the beginning of the
year. The teachers still teach us but the noise sometimes makes it very hard to hear what they say. It is  disturbing but we carry on.”

The college director was away at meetings at the head office in Uitenhage at the time of going to press and was unavailable for comment.
