If you care about the environment and want to make sure that you don’t miss important dates and events that are relevant to the environment, Nikki Kohly has prepared the following enviro-calendar:
February
21 – International Mother Language Day: all
people can communicate their care for the

15-19 – National Water Week (SA): our water resources
are essential for our ongoing survival.
20 – Meatout Day: reduce our carbon footprint through our diet.
21 – Human Rights Day (SA)/International
Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination
(UN): human rights bring human responsibilities.
22 – World Water Day: water is life.
23 – World Meteorological Day: global weather
patterns often reflect human impacts.
24-30 – Scifest Africa: annual science festival
in Grahamstown
27 – Earth Hour: turn off the power for an hour
in a call for political commitment.
April
5 – Family Day (SA): care begins at home.
7 – World Health Day: environmental health affects our health.
