Karateka grading

A number of Grahamstown Japan Karate Association (JKA) karateka travelled to East London at the end of 2009 for a grading event.
The following karateka passed their gradings:
Riaan Labuschagne double graded to Purple 2
Benri Niehaus passed to Dinky Green
Zanelle van Vuuren passed to Red 1
Annemie Niehaus passed to Green 1

Zanelle van Vuuren passed to Red 1
Annemie Niehaus passed to Green 1
Fritz Niehaus passed to Green 1
Gerrit Swarts passed to Green 1
Kaylin Bouwer passed to Orange 2
Brent Smith passed to Purple 1.
Annemie Niehaus also won the trophy for Miss Gasshuku for her good spirit and hard training during the gasshuku (karatetraining camp).
The following karateka were rewarded for all their hard work and dedication during 2009:
Outstanding spirit through the year: Gerrit Swarts
Most improved junior: Annemie Niehaus
Most improved male: Fritz Niehaus
Most improved lady: Daneâ T van Vuuren
Most achievements for the year: Riaan Labuschagne
Dinky of the year: Benri Niehaus
Karateka of the year: Riaan Labuschagne
