The owner of the KwikSpar in Kenton-on-Sea has died after being shot three times in the chest outside the local Standard Bank branch on Monday morning.

Police say that the businessman, who has not yet been named, was gunned down by robbers as he was on his way into the bank. A massive manhunt was in progress to track down the suspects, who took an undisclosed amount of cash and are believed to have made their getaway in a white Nissan Sentra. Police are also looking for a silver Isuzu bakkie and a blue Toyota Corolla which were at the scene at the time.

Update (24/11, 09h30): Police spokesperson Captain Mali Govender says that police have still not named the victim as they are still in the process of informing his next-of-kin. His name is expected to be released this afternoon. She added that no arrests have been made and the hunt for the suspects is continuing.
