The Grocott’s Mail Eleven Attackers football club and Joza Callies football club are scheduled to battle it out in the final of the pre-season Misile ‘Christmas’ Ntlanjeni soccer tournament.

The tournament began with knockout matches on Saturday 8 August and the quarterfinals and semi-finals took place on Monday 10 August.

In the semi-finals, Eleven Attackers beat Young Stars 2-1, while Joza Callies beat New Town City 3-1.

Joza Callies represent the Makana Local Football Association (LFA), Metropolitan League, while Eleven Attackers are part of the South African Football Association SAB Cacadu League. They are hoping for a win as they prepare for the 2009/10 season where they will once again be battling it out for the top spot, after being crowned champions of their stream at the end of the 2008/09 season.

The tournament was held for teams to start preparing for the upcoming season. Chris Totobela, Makana LFA vice-chairman said the committee will meet shortly to work out the upcoming Metropolitan League and Development League fixtures.
