The U18 National Academy Week kicked off with 24 competing teams at the Grootvlei Sports Academy in Pretoria on 29 June.

The Blue Bulls, Border, Eastern Province, Falcons, Griffons, Griquas, Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal sent two sides to the tournament and the rest of the 14 regions sent one team. Namibia is also competing in this year’s U18 Academy Week.

The Grahamstown pupils who represented the EP Country Districts side at the Academy Week were Ryan Dugmore, Ian Herold (St Andrew’s), Matthew Booth (Graeme) and Jason Collett (Kingswood).

The EP Country District side finished 14th out of 24 teams, beating the EP and Border sides in the final log standings.
